Learn more about the Adult Education Budget (AEB)'s funding criteria.
Our fully-funded courses in England are funded by a government scheme called the Adult Education Budget. This is a budget designed to allow adults to continue their personal and professional development. You can learn more on our Adult Education Budget page.Funding Criteria
- Candidates must live in England.
- Candidates must have lived in the EU for the last three years or longer and have appropriate residency documentation (appropriate proof will be required at induction or online enrolment). If candidates have lived in the EU for less than three years, they may still be eligible for funding. Please contact the office to be advised on exemptions.
- Candidates may only enrol on one course at a time.
- Candidates must be 19 or over.
- Candidates should be made aware that data/information relating to the course may be shared with their employer/manager for support purposes whilst on the programme.
- Candidates will be expected to provide their National Insurance number and photo identification (e.g., passport) as part of the online enrolment process.
- Candidates must be made aware that the course they are enrolling on is funded as a learner-led provision based on the terms and conditions above; this means they are undertaking the course as part of their own personal development and therefore are undertaking the course out of personal choice.
Your employees' prior education
Eligibility isn't limited to your prior education however the level 2 course your employees are completing needs to be separate from your prior qualification. E.g., having a psychology degree and applying for our awareness of mental health.
Apprenticeship learners
Unfortunately, any employees cannot complete a course whilst on an apprenticeship. Whilst this is typically funded by the apprenticeship levy, it is classed as a funded course therefore they cannot claim the AEB funding.
Regional funding
At The Skills Network, we work directly with the ESFA and 54 college partners to allow us to fund as much of England as possible however some areas we do not have partners making funding limited in that area. Funding can fluctuate throughout an academic year - if you have any queries about funding in your region, please reach out to your account manager.
Additional costs
As the courses are funded all the provision is covered via the Adult Education Budget including the resources, the assessments, the support, registration with the awarding body, and certification. *TQUK is e-certification. The only time that a learner could be liable for a charge is due to non-completion which is £100.
